<p><em>This</em> <em>research</em> <em>aims</em> <em>to</em> <em>determine</em> <em>the</em> <em>effect</em> <em>of</em> <em>the</em> <em>ICARE</em> <em>(Introduction,</em> <em>Connection,</em> <em>Application, </em><em>Reflection and Extension) learning model on the critical thinking abilities of class IV students at SD Labschool UNESA 2. The research method is Quasi-Experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all students in class IV of SD Labschool UNESA 2, totaling 39 children. The sample in this study consisted of 18 class IV A students (experimental class) and 21 class IV B students (control class) taken using saturated sampling techniques. The instruments used are test instruments and questionnaires. The material used is data presentation. In the N-Gain test results, the experimental class obtained an average value of 0.57 and the control class obtained an average value of 0.37. So it can be concluded that the application of the ICARE (Introduction, Connection, Application, Reflection and Extension) learning model in the experimental class has a greater influence on the critical thinking abilities of class IV students at SD Labschool UNESA 2.</em></p>M.
